Zelma Mae Hummell, 77, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Morning View Care Center in New Philadelphia, following a brief illness.Born February 8, 1925, in Winterset, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late George U. and Norma Belle Ford Wright. She was a homemaker and a past member of the Winterset United Methodist Church.Zelma is survived by her husband, Byron Eugene Hummell, whom she married February, 23, 1952; a brother, Raymond Wright of Texas; a brother-in-law, Charles Mallernee of Cambridge; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, two brothers, Ralph H. and Arlie R. Wright; two sisters, Dorothy Wright and Lillie Mallernee; and one brother-in-law, Horace Hummell, preceded her in death.Funeral services will be held Monday, July 8, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia with Pastor Terry L. Canfield officiating. Burial will be at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 7, 2002, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the funeral home.
