Wilma graduated from Dennison High School and worked as a cook at the former Bonvechio’s Restaurant. On July 4, 1954, Wilma married the late Robert D. Briggs. They shared more than 67 years of marriage prior to his passing.

Wilma’s faith was nurtured at the First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia where she was a member. She was also an avid Jass card player, enjoying Wednesday evenings for numerous years playing alongside her friends in Tusky. Wilma was a devoted fan of the Guardians, Browns, and Cavaliers, too. Most importantly, she was devoted to her family. Wilma adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought much love and joy to her life.

In addition to her parents and husband, Wilma is preceded in death by her siblings, William, Leonard, Clayton, Tom, Dennis, Jake Carpenter, Beulah Henry and Wanda Miller; and her son-in-law, Gordon Selden.

So very sad to hear of Wilma's passing. Having grown up in Wainwright myself, I have known Wilma for a long time. We spent many hours working (and laughing) together in the kitchen at Bonvechios restaurant. She was a loving and caring person as well as my favorite Jass partner. I will never forget her. She is in heaven now with Bob. I will keep her family in my prayers. Gary Erwin Dover Ohio

Wilma (and Bob BOTH) was the most loving and caring person, and the best "Gram" that I have ever met. She was funny, VERY "direct" in conversation....(you never had to "guess" how she REALLY felt! :) She will be missed greatly by all who knew her, but ESPECIALLY her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren! She would do ANYTHING for them. We will miss Wilma as a friend! ALWAYS good for a warm hug, just when any of us needed it most! Prayers of comfort and peace to the entire Family. We love you ALL!
