William F. Krantz

William F. Krantz, 86, of Strasburg, died Thursday, November 7, 2002 at New Dawn Health Care Center in Dover.Born in Strasburg, he was the son of the late Walter and Agnes (Wiegand) Krantz. William served honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a lifetime member of New Philadelphia VFW Post # 1445.Surviving is his wife, Elizabeth V. Schneider Krantz whom he married in 1935; two daughters, Vina A. (Gene) Hensel of Strasburg and Karen E. Krantz Weber of New Philadelphia; a son, Joseph P. Krantz of Strasburg; ten grandchildren, Douglas (Sally) Hensel, Chris (Christine) Hensel, Vina Lynn (Michael) Durbin, Lori (Donald) Crites and William (Erin) Krantz all of Strasburg; Sonya (Timothy) Stein and Greg Weber of Dover; Matt (Michelle) Weber of Uhrichsville and Jodi (Leo) Zorzi III and Julie Krantz Southard of Atlanta, GA; two step-granddaughters, Stephanie Wellman and Staci Joe Conner both of Canton; twenty great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; a sister, Mary Catherine Wardell.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a twin brother, Joseph J. KrantzIn keeping with his wishes, his body is to be cremated and a private family graveside service will be held at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. The New Philadelphia VFW will conduct military graveside services. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W Third Street, Dover, OH 44622.The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
