Toni Lynn DeBois

October 5, 1951 — May 5, 2020

Toni Lynn DeBois, 68, of Dover, died Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in Hennis Care Center at Dover following a lengthy illness.

A daughter of the late John Richard and Helen Pauline (Bertoline) Davis, Toni was born October 5, 1951 at Canton, Ohio.

Toni graduated from New Philadelphia High School where she played the flute in the Marching Quaker Band. She then continued her education at Kent State University where she earned her Registered Nurse certification and then later at Malone University where she earned a degree in Business Administration.

She was a nurse at Aultman Hospital at Canton and eventually became a nursing manager until her illness no longer permitted her to work.

Toni was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Dover where she also formerly played the flute in the choir. She was a former member of the New Philadelphia Jaycees as well.

Her true passion in life was her family and she was extremely devoted to them. She enjoyed gardening in her younger years and was always known for her cut-out cookies at Christmas. Toni enjoyed music and really loved to dance.

She will be remembered for her selfless spirit who would do anything for anyone as well as for being an amazing nurse and the best mother, sister, daughter and friend.

She is survived by her daughters, Chantelle DeBois and Jaime (Brian) Barker both of Columbus; two grandchildren, Penny and Desmond Barker; a sister, Amy (Don) May and several nieces and nephews.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jon-Paul DeBois and a brother, Bruce Davis.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours and a graveside service will be held in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.

Toni’s family is extremely grateful for the care and compassion provided by Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County during her illness, as well as during her son’s illness. In return, the family would like to ask that memorial contributions be made in Toni’s memory to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
