Todd Alan Stephan

January 19, 1950 — January 5, 2021

Todd A. Stephan, 70, of New Philadelphia, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in Aultman Hospital at Canton.

Born in Dover, he was the son of the late Donald M. and Belva (Young) Stephan and was a 1968 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and the automotive program at Buckeye Joint Vocational School. Todd was a United States Army veteran, stationed in Okinawa, Thailand and the Philippines prior to his honorable discharge. Todd went on to work for several local companies before retiring from Arizona Chemical in 2007.

In retirement, Todd spent time with family and friends golfing in his Monday night league at Five Waters, and on Fridays in May at Zoar and Wilkshire. He rarely missed watching a Browns or Buckeyes football game. He could often be found at his son’s brewery, sampling the newly-created beers with pride. He frequently attended local car shows to support his brothers’ restoration projects.

In May 2020, Todd was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Theresa Stephan and is survived by his sons, Joseph (Jennifer) Stephan and Michael Stephan; grandchildren, Penelope and Julia Stephan; brothers, Dan (Joyce) Stephan and Gary Stephan; his in-laws, Connie (Richard) Miller, Tony (Sharon) Basiewicz, Michael (Moe) Basiewicz, Tom Basiewicz, Nell White and Lucia (Pat) Wellington and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. A brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Diane Ackerman, also precede him in death, as well as sister-in-law Judith Basiewicz.
