Thomas Franklin “Foltzy” Foltz II, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 in Cleveland Clinic following a recent illness.

A son of Jackie D. Foltz Sr. and Dawna J. (Fisher) Foltz, Tom was born December 18, 1968 in Twin City Hospital at Dennison, Ohio.

Tom graduated from Claymont High School in 1988 then continued his education at Kent State University Tuscarawas Campus. Then on September 21, 1996, Tom married the former Wendy Roth and the couple raised two children, Christopher and Kassidy.

He was formerly an employee at Lauren Manufacturing where he worked for 21 years. Tom then went to work for U.S. Wells and most recently was working at Kleen Test in Strasburg.

Tom was an avid golfer who loved being on any course he could and often times playing with his golf buddy and best friend, Dan Huntsman. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Tom enjoyed bowling and over the years he was a member of various leagues at Alpa Lanes in Uhrichsville. He also enjoyed attending motocross races with his brothers, listening to rock and roll and country music and grilling out in his backyard. He also formerly coached the West Side Chargers Pee Wee Football team and was affectionately known as the “Bill Belichick” of Pee Wee Football.

He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his love for making others laugh.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Wendy Foltz; his children, Christopher (fiancé, Kara Collins) Foltz of Columbus and Kassidy Foltz of Uhrichsville; his granddaughter and his pride and joy, Stevie Trout; his beloved St. Bernard’s, Oakley and Knoxx; his parents, Jack and Brenda Foltz of Dennison and Dawna Foltz of Uhrichsville; his siblings, Jackie D. Foltz Jr. of Dennison, Mike (Andrea) Foltz of Dennison and Carol (companion, Mike Cervellini) Foltz of Uhrichsville; a step-sister, Nichole Sankey; his mother-in-law, Maribel Roth; two sisters-in-law, Kimberly (Steve) Murphy of Uhrichsville and Cathy (companion, Duane Kadri) Page of Uhrichsville and several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Geraldine Foltz and Dean and Helen Fisher and by his father-in-law, Neil Roth.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Tom’s life will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Scot Caley officiating. To the family of Tom, Through each of you I have come to know your husband, son, father, grandfather, son-in-law and brother-in-law as if he was in my immediate family. To be sure, he left a part of him in each of you that will keep on multiplying exponentially as you grow in your lives. Take that with you and build as he did on it in his life. He gave himself to his friends and family that will forever keep his memory alive. Tom is not gone, he lives like a beacon that will continue to guide each of your paths. Over time you will smile and be happy for the years you shared with him. For to whom much is been given, much is expected. May God watch over each of you as you navigate through the unthinkable. Love, Karen Ravine Thornton

When God created Tom Foltz, He gave the world a gift. He gave us a "Gentile Giant" with a purpose to bring smiles to our faces. Tom did just that in his short time with us. Tom fulfilled his purpose, then God called him home. Tom will be missed, but will never leave us. Every time we think of our time with Tom, our heart and our soul will put a Smile on our face. You see, God makes no mistakes. We all have been blessed to have known him. Good night sweet prince, may choirs of angels sing thee to thy rest. Wendy, Chris, Kassidy, Stevie, you have my deepest sympathy. The greater the love, the greater the loss. I promise you that after the tears, you will smile again. Hugs from your cousins in Pennsylvania, Rosemary, Jeff, and Julie.
