Thomas E. Johnson, age 67, of Magnolia, died on Thursday, September 22, 2022, in his home, after a period of declining health.

Born in Steubenville, Ohio on January 11, 1955 Tom was a son of the late Glenn Franklin Johnson and Gladys Irene Raymond.

Tom proudly served his country in the Vietnam War.  He was in the Navy on various aircraft carriers as an airplane mechanic.  Throughout his life he was a hard worker and owned and operated a communication business until his health no longer allowed.

He loved to be outside and was often found fishing, camping or boating.  He also loved to ride motorcycles.  Tom was also known for his silly sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife  Sharon (Newsome) Johnson, who he married on July 17, 1992; his children, Dustin (Alisha) Gordon, Travis (Mariana) Johnson, Kylee (Dillen) Johnson, Brock (Melanie) Jones and Jenna Johnson; grandchildren, Briar Johnson, Bailey Johnson, Chase Johnson, Adriana Clouston, Sophiana Gordon, Ryder Gordon, River Gordon, Ranger Gordon, Ruger Gordon, and Andy Jones; great-grandchildren, Jordan Ray and Brooks Johnson; brothers, Daniel (Marsha) Shute and Shepherd James White; sister, Diana Mazure; and numerous other family members.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; son, William Johnson; and great-granddaughter, Aleia Ray.

No public services are planned at this time. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling cremation care.  A private family inurnment will follow at a later time in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at Rittman, Ohio.
