Teddy Bair, you and I met over 30 years ago, in the laser printer business, but what really drew us together was, we were both NASCAR fans and lifelong 'gear heads'. You even asked me once to copilot your Silverstate Challenge race. Thanks, but no thanks. Early on, you were a challenge to figure out. You said many times over the years that you considered yourself 'normal', but that your ex-wives and girlfriends would totally disagree. Who else could sit from dawn to dusk, for days, sorting through thousands of coins, to find only three of value, and be happy?! Or brilliantly modify the roof of your shop to accommodate an electric car hoist, so the bottoms of your cars could be as clean as the tops! We commiserated on our aging problems, the mystifying minds of our ladies, or the joy and pain of having cars as a hobby. You had a life long affair with 'Running Bair", your yellow COPO Camaro drag car, which Barrett tried to buy.. Your son reassembled it and now proudly drives it. The list goes on. Only you, Teddy Bair. When you called to tell me about finding a '57 Chevy, I waited some weeks to visit, but my calls went unanswered. After several more weeks, I figured your annual family visit to Ohio was over, but your door bell also went unanswered. Now here we are. I will miss you my friend, you were one of one.
