Sue E. Bonvechio, 47, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at Hennis Care and Assisted Living Centre in Dover following a courageous battle with cancer.Born in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Alexander C. “Ping” Bonvechio and is survived by her mother, Pauline E. Sopinski Bonvechio of New Philadelphia. She was 1972 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a 1976 graduate of Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and was the former director of marketing for Bonnie Sportswear in Los Angeles, California. Sue worked as a physical fitness instructor at the Schoenbrunn Fitness Center in New Philadelphia, served as a volunteer for Hospice of Tuscarawas County and also held a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.In addition to her mother, she is survived by two brothers, Alex “Sandy” (Peg) Bonvechio and David (Diane) Bonvechio both of Dover; two nieces and four nephews.In addition to her father, her former husband, William O. Mock, also precedes her in death.In keeping with Sue’s wishes, her body is to be cremated and a Memorial Mass will be held Friday, October 11, 2002 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church in Dover with Father William Arnold officiating. A reception will be held at the Geib Family Center in New Philadelphia following the mass. A private family burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia at a later date. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, Ohio, 44622. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory in New Philadelphia is in charge of arrangements.
