Sarah Burkholder

Sarah Burkholder, 84, of Granville, formerly of Dover, died peacefully Monday, April 8, 2002. Sarah fought a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, and following a short illness, succumbed to kidney failure. Born in Charm, Holmes County, she was a daughter of the late Lizzie Miller Miller. Sarah married Alvin J. Burkholder on June 4, 1940. Alvin died in 1985.Sarah resided the past seven years in the loving care of her nephew, Steven A. Petersheim, his wife, Laura, and their sons, Steven Joshua and Benjamin of Granville. Steven A. Petersheim died as the result of an accident in August 2000. In addition to Laura, Steven, Joshua and Benjamin, she is survived by three sisters, Mattie Petersheim, Ada Petersheim and Betty Miller; a brother, Calvin (Dorothy) Miller; many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.Besides her parents, husband and nephew, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nora Miller and Katie Hershberger; and by brothers-in-law, William and Jonas Petersheim.A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2002, at 1 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia with Rev. Daniel Legg officiating. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM in the funeral home.
