Sandra Kay Metcalf, 68, of New Philadelphia, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on June 21, 2022.
Born December 26, 1953 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Albert Eugene and Joann (Shroyer) Tucker.
After graduating from Strasburg High School, Sandra served at the customer service desk with Dover Buehlers for 39 years.
On July 27, 1987, Sandra married her best friend and lifelong companion, Franklin R. “Frank” Metcalf, in the Dover Baptist Church. Together, they devoted their lives to serving the Lord and were faithful and active members of the First Church of the Nazarene in New Philadelphia.
Sandra had a passion for helping children in need which led her to support programs like School Palpaks, Crisis Care kits, and the operation Christmas child. She also loved participating in the prayer shawl ministry of the church.
She and Frank were called to go into the world and share the Gospel with others through word and deed. She served as a missionary in Tonga, Honduras, Philippines, Bolivia, Panama, Bulgaria, Paraguay, and Fairbanks, Alaska.
Sandra will forever be cherished by her husband, Frank; her brother, Tom (Barb) Tucker of Beach City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in passing by her siblings, Christine Pounds, Tim Tucker, Lori Tucker, and Ann Myers.
A memorial visitation will be held in the First Church of the Nazarene on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 10 to 11 a.m., with a service celebrating her life beginning at 11 a.m. Burial of Sandra’s cremated remains will immediately follow the service in Schoenbrunn Meadow Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
Friends and family are invited back to the church following the committal service where Sandra’s church family will host a reception.
