Sammy D. Murphy

Sammy D. Murphy, 83, of Dover, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 in Community Hospice – Truman House at New Philadelphia.

Born in Stroud, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Samuel H. and Opal (Hopkins) Murphy, he had retired as a Driller in the Oil Industry and was a gun enthusiast and loved riding motorcycles.

Surviving are his two sons, Shawn (Loretta) Murphy and Shannon Murphy both of Fresno, Ohio; a step-daughter, Barb (Brian) Simek of Ashtabula, Ohio; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Sammy was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria J. Murphy on July 30, 2018.

In keeping with his wishes, Sammy is to be cremated through the care of the Geib Funeral Center at Dover, Ohio and no public services are to be conducted.
