Randy L. Torch, 66, of Dover, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, November 5, 2021 in Mercy Medical Center at Canton following a brief illness.
Born July 17, 1955 in Union Hospital at Dover, he was the son of Eileen (Couch) Turrin of New Philadelphia and the late Frank Torch and a graduate of New Philadelphia High School. A man of great faith, and who brought many people to know the Lord, Randy was raised in and still attending the First Church of God at New Philadelphia where he was currently serving on the church’s Elder Board. He loved being with his family and also riding his Indian motorcycle. He was a funny, gentle, generous, kind hearted and humble man and loved by many. The world would be a much better place if there were more people like him.

On June 5, 1976, Randy married Diane L. (Ruggeri) Torch and together they shared over 45 years of marriage before his passing. Also surviving are his two daughters, Jessica (Michael) Rugh of Dover and Brooke (Scott) Jasper of Atwood Lake; his four grandchildren, Kaylee Maurer, Breanna, Hunter and Madison Jasper and his niece, Michelle (Eric) Curry.

In addition to his father, Randy was preceded in death by his sister, Sherry Paris.

In keeping with Randy’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 1:30 PM in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia with Pastor Jim Wallick officiating.

To honor Randy, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to either the First Church of God, 824 Tuscarawas Avenue NW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663 or, the First Church of God, 402 North 2nd Street, Dennison, Ohio 44621.

Those wishing to do so may send the family a personal condolence and light a candle in remembrance of Randy by visiting the funeral home’s website at www.GeibCares.com.

You have my deepest sympathy. I did not know Randy very well but he came to first Baptist Church for a while and that's where I knew him and also my neighbor worked with him for a long time. He sat behind us at church and I will miss him and while he was in the hospital I prayed for him every day but he is going to be with his Lord and he will be missed. He is in a much better place now. May God bless you all and take care of you.

Diane and family, I am so very sorry for your loss of Randy. My heart is broken for you. I have not seen Randy for years. He was always so kind hearted in high school. We walked to school together at times. I had no idea we lived so close. I’m on N Wooster. I would have loved to have had us all visit. It looks as though Randy will be missed by a multitude of people. But oh my, the multitude of angels he is with now would be an astonishing sight. And some day, we will see. Many hugs. Lots of prayers. And much love to you all.

Dear Torch Family, We are so sorry to hear of Randy's passing. We were neighbors on West High in the 80's but I remember Randy in high school. He was as nice as could be and as fun loving as a teenage boy is. Randy laughed easy and was a great guy to be around. Please take solace in the fact that he was loved and will be missed. Larry & Jan McBride
