In 1998, Melville and his partner, Sandra Law, moved to New Philadelphia after being relocated by his employer, Gallion Dump Bodies at Winesburg.  He also formerly worked at Kimble Manufacturing at Midvale.

He had a true love for animals and enjoyed golfing in his spare time.

In keeping with Melville’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
