Melville Leroy Williams

August 19, 1963 — September 27, 2020

Melville Leroy Williams, 57, of New Philadelphia and formerly of Buffalo, New York, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020 in his home following a lengthy illness.

 

A son of the late James Williams and Capitola (Clevenger) Ritchison, Melville was born August 19, 1963 at Marion, Indiana.

 

In 1998, Melville and his partner, Sandra Law, moved to New Philadelphia after being relocated by his employer, Gallion Dump Bodies at Winesburg.  He also formerly worked at Kimble Manufacturing at Midvale.

 

He had a true love for animals and enjoyed golfing in his spare time.

 

He is survived by his partner of 26 years, Sandra; his daughters, Christine (Christopher) Jones of Stone Creek and Rachel Law of New Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Aiden Stein and Emily Eberly; his siblings, Janona Hunt and Tonia Philebaum both of Gas City, Indiana and Jeffrey Williams and Christy Lawson both of Tampa, Florida and many nieces and nephews.

 

In keeping with Melville’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.

 

Contributions may be made in Melville’s memory to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, 1432 Tall Timber Road NE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
