Mark and his family have always been in my heart. they were wonderful neighbors to my mother Ethel Duerr. Mark would check in to see her and Mom was always invited to their family gatherings. She enjoyed seeing the boys growing up and Mark going with the tractor to the field to work. He and Wendy were busy with their lives, but always had time to stop and say hello. Mark, rest in peace and to Wendy and the boys I send my love. Joanne Duerr Sater

Our hearts cry out to Jesus for Spillman's loss of Mark Spillman. He and I had some great times and am proud to have known him and all the spouses of his brothers Eric and Kirk. As Patricia is fighting advanced Parkinson's disease prevents us from much travel we are thinking and praying for you all. Mark had many great qualities... refusing the Jackson basketball coach saying we are not losers, great football player there, and his love of all things Spillman, Granddad and his Mom's cousin's, his passion for his wife and family, and his farming. Great man Mark may you enjoy heaven. Love Jeff and Patricia Hoon

I have always appreciated Mark's directness, leadership, humor and the way he presented himself to us newbies at Stark Truss. He had that kind facade that somehow also communicated "do not poke the bear". The more I got to know him the more I respected him.

So sorry to hear about Mark. I played basketball with Mark and Kirk in their backyard and on the JMHS team. Our team even had a weekend retreat to the Spillman farm in central Ohio. He was always fun to be around. I'm also not surprised that his family is athletic since Mark was such a good player. My prayers are with his family.

My first memory of Mark was in April of 1987 when he came to Broken Arrow Oklahoma to pull out all the equipment from the Stark Truss plant that I worked at. He was a make it happen kind of guy that I had deep respect for the first time I met him. You either got after it or you better get out of his way. I was fortunate to be able to spend many times after that first meeting with Mark and his awesome family. Working together and playing softball together in the annual Stark Truss Company tournament and eating a lot of Wendy's patented chocolate chip cookies with a big glass of milk were my fondest memories. The cookie story is my favorite. I was at their house and Wendy had just baked a batch of cookies. We all got our 1st helping of them and stuffed ourselves. I went back for seconds and thought everyone else was done so I took the rest of the cookies. I went back in the living room with a pile of cookies and Mark looked at me and said that that looked like a good idea. He started to the kitchen and I had to tell him I got the rest of them. He started laughing because he could tell I was really embarrassed but that did not stop him from politely telling me to hand them over. Kary and I extend our thoughts and prayers to all the Mark Spillman family. He was one of a kind and will be missed by us all. Don and Kary Groom
