Marjorie A. Davis, 88, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in Park Village Care Center at Dover, following a period of declining health.

Marjorie A. Davis, 88, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in Park Village Care Center at Dover, following a period of declining health.
Born in the area known as “Tin Town” at Dover, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Bernice K. (Reidenbach) Oppy and was a longtime member of the Goshen Community Church of the Nazarene at New Philadelphia. Marjorie loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her many pets, which include a mini donkey named Katie, a goat named Waylon, her rabbits, Benny and Hank, Norman the dog and numerous feathered friends.
On December 23, 1951, Marjorie married Floyd “Zeke” Davis and together they shared over 66 years of marriage before his passing in 2018.
Surviving are her children, Jo Ann (Larry) Guy of New Philadelphia, Marvin (Cindy) Davis of New Philadelphia and Melvin (Mary) Davis of Ocala, Florida; her sister, Kathryn (Les) Brauer of Michigan; her sister-in-law, Shirley Davis of Tuscarawas; five grandchildren, Erica (Devin) Edmunds of Virginia, Mitch (Diane) Davis of New Philadelphia, Erin (Neil Cook) Davis of Dayton, Matt (Erin) Davis of Tuscarawas, Marc Davis of New Philadelphia and three great-grandchildren, Harper Edmunds, Norah Davis and Nolan Davis.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Cunningham and Lois Mansill.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 1:30 PM in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia with Pastor Lee Randolph officiating. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia, is handling the arrangements.
The family requests that memorial contributions, in Marjorie’s memory, be directed to either Community Hospice, the Goshen Community Church of the Nazarene Building Fund or the Tuscarawas County Humane Society.
