Marian J. Reiss

Marian J. Reiss, 93, of New Philadelphia, died Monday, December 16, 2002, at Union Hospital in Dover.Born in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John and Edna Adams Maurer and she had retired after thirty-seven years with the Tuscarawas County Probate Court. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia; the Tuscarawas County Democratic Women and was an area historian.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus D. Reiss; three sisters, Ruth Taylor, Jean Maurer and Marjorie Maurer and by three brothers, Eddie Maurer, Tom Maurer and Bob Maurer.Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2002 at 1:30 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia with Rev. Hugh Berry officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. A reception will be held in the Geib Family Center following the committal. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2002 from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home
