Although we never met, I have heard so much about Marian Reiss's remarkable life. I celebrate her life and I will always appreciate her extraordinary kindness to my daughter, Jennifer. I send my warm good wishes and condolences to her family.

I only met Marian Reiss once, but our visit was memorable. She was a warm, funny, brilliant woman, who graciously accepted me into her home and talked freely to me about her uncle Fred, who took part in an Arctic expedition long ago. It was a delight to be in her company, and I left her house that day filled with admiration for a remarkable lady. Even though I wasn't fortunate to know her well, she will be greatly missed.
