Lena May McAninch, age 98, of Tallmadge, died Monday, June 24, 2002, at Morning View Care Center, New Philadelphia, following an extended illness. Born March 23, 1904, in Dillonvalle, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late William Taylor & Anna May Waller Bane. Lena was a school bus driver for Georgetown and Adena School Districts, and she also was an active member of the Grace Cathedral in Akron, Ohio.Surviving are her son, Wilson (Betty) McAninch of Harrisville; granddaughters, Kathy McAninch-Kelly of Canton and Deborah McAninch of Harrisville; a sister, Kathryn Ickes of Silver Springs, Florida; two brothers, William Bane of Barnsville and Earl Bane of San Marcos, California; many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd McAninch; sisters, Geneva Lawrence and Elizabeth Lough; four brothers, Ernie, Roy, Elmer, and Herman Bane.Funeral services will be held Friday, June 28, 2002, at 10:30 AM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia, Ohio, with Rev. James P. McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 27, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home.
