LARRY W. MYERS, 57, passed away from complications of leukemia in his New Philadelphia home on Tuesday evening, June 18, 2002. Larry was born June 10, 1945 in Scio to the late Clarence and Helen Irons Myers. He was a 1964 graduate of Scio High School. On June 11, 1965 Larry married the former Harriett M. Shultz in the New Rumley United Methodist Church. Larry served honorably with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War, from 1966 to 1968. In 1969 Larry began his 33-year career as a skilled machinist for the Gradall Company. When not working, Larry enjoyed participating in his sons many activities. He also liked fishing and restoring Mopars. Larry was also a fine woodworker. Recently Larry and Harriett had been attending Otterbein United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife Harriett, Larry is survived by his two sons, Dr. Alan (Heidi) Myers, DDS, of New Philadelphia and Brian Myers of Midvale; grandson, Eric Myers; sister, Mary (Rev. Tom) Baker of Germano; brothers, Ed (Marty) Myers of Dellroy and Jim (Ruth) Myers of Carrollton; aunts, Maxine Carroll of Carrollton and Hazel Wallace of Cleveland; uncle, Foster (Helen) Myers of Scio; brother-in-law, Nelson Heavener of Hanover, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Snair and Nancy Heavener. Visitation will be on Friday, June 21, 2002 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia. The funeral will be on Saturday, June 22, 2002 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Larry’s brother-in-law, Rev. Tom Baker, officiating. Burial will follow at East Avenue Cemetery, with military rites presented by VFW Post #1445. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 210 W. Third St., Dover, OH 44622.
