Larry Reed Fulton, 75, of Dover, passed away July 25, 2018 in the Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia.

Born in Dover on June 30, 1943, he was the son of the late Richard and Maxine Virginia (Nash) Reiss and Harry L. Fulton.

After graduating from New Philadelphia High School in 1961, Larry married the former Elizabeth “Betty” G. Johnson on June 27, 1964. Together, they were blessed with the birth of two sons, Aaron and Adam.

Larry’s professional career spanned nearly 22 years with the Danner Press in Canton before beginning his 15-year service to Dover Chemical as a janitor. He was also an active member of the B.P.O.E. #510 where he tended to the popcorn machine and sold Bingo cards. He also served on the Dover Tornadoes Club for 15 years.

He had a passion for cars, whether it was attending car shows or drag races. In his earlier years, he was a member of the Quarter-Milers club. Larry was also an avid golfer. Most importantly, he loved to serve others in whatever capacity they needed. He was a very kind and generous spirit.

Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth, of Dover; his sons, Aaron (Heather) Fulton and Adam (Wynonna) Fulton, both of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Garron Fawcett and Tanner Fulton; his special aunt and uncle, Corinne and Lee McGovern of Canton; and cousins, Brian McGovern, Kelly (Mark) Mallen, Patty (Albert) Grimes, Craig (Judy) Cairns and Bob Fulton.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his uncle and aunts, Roger and Laura Fulton and Gail Currie.

The family will greet guests on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 5 to 8 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A Christian Wake service will begin at 4:45 PM and an Elk’s Lodge of Sorrow service will be held at 8 PM. Father Jimmy Hatfield will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends and family are invited to the Family Life Center following the burial where a meal will be held.

Memorial contributions in Larry’s memory may be directed to St. Joseph Poor Fund, 613 N. Tuscarawas Ave., Dover, OH 44622 or the Elks Lodge Charity Fund, 1180 Union Ave. NW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.

Tam & I send our deepest sympathy and condolences to the Fulton families, with the passing of Larry. He was a true gentleman in all sense of the word and once he knew you, you never had to worry about being a stranger again. His kindness, personality, and demeanor were able to shine wherever he was. Larry was always willing to stand up, raise his hand and get involved in whatever was asked of him. He will be missed by many in our community as he was a good steward for any group he believed in and belonged to. With heartfelt sympathy, Robert & Tammi Everett
