Jinnie Lou Alexander, 80, of Dover, died Friday, March 2, 2018 in Union Hospital while in the care of Community Hospice following a brief illness.

Born at Waynesboro, Tennessee on March 30, 1937, Jinnie was a daughter of the late Luther and Theo (Brewer) Potts.

Jinnie attended Dover High School and was an active member of the Salvation Army for many years. She enjoyed craft work, activities and visits with her neighbors at Seton Square and spending time with her family.

Jinnie leaves behind her daughter, Paula Alexander of Canton; her son, Phillip (Abby) Alexander of Navarre; her siblings, Tom (Betty) Potts, Nadine (Bill) Alexander, Nell Breitenstein and Robert “Potsy” Potts all of Dover; her grandchildren, Dustin (Tana) Alexander of Dover, Brandon (Sherri) Alexander of Newport News, Virginia, Eric Alexander of Buffalo, New York, Tess Alexander and Sophie Alexander both of Navarre; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jinnie was preceded in death by a daughter, Barb Alexander; a son, John Alexander; and a sister, Maxine Stagg.

In keeping with Jinnie’s wishes, private services will be held with cremation to follow through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.

Memorial contributions in Jinnie’s name may be directed to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
