Jane A. Reiser

Jane A. Reiser, 92, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully in Park Village Healthcare at Dover on April 28, 2021.

Born in Dover on December 7, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred (Deibel) Reiser.

She was a 1946 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and continued her formal education at Ohio Wesleyan University where she earned a teaching certificate in 1950.
Her love for education and the New Philadelphia community led her to the New Philadelphia schools where she began teaching 7th grade English in 1950. Later, she taught Senior High typing and shorthand. After 35 years in education, Jane retired in June of 1983.

She was a member of the American Association of University Women, the College Club of Tuscarawas County, several Bridge clubs, and the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia.

Her family includes her cousins, John (Peggy) Stratton, Larry Smith, Steve Reiser, Jamie Reiser, Pam Pierson, Robin Abbott; and special friend and caregiver, Karen Schwartz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her cousin, Susan Smith.

A private burial of Jane’s cremated remains will take place in Evergreen Burial Park alongside her parents.
