Howard “Howie” “Buddy” E. Stevens

Howard “Howie” “Buddy” Eugene Stevens, 60, of Tippecanoe, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020 in Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia, following a period of declining health.

Born in Dover, he was the son of the late Donald and Julia (Miller) Stevens. He had attended the former Lakeland High School in Freeport and was a veteran having served in the United States Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky and retired in 2013, after 32 years of employment with the former Lauren Manufacturing at New Philadelphia.

A licensed minister, Howie had officiated over many weddings and loved studying the bible. He was very sociable and loved chatting with people and also enjoyed camping, fishing and bowling.

On May 31, 1998, he married Michelle (McDade) Stevens, and together shared over 22 years of marriage before his passing. Also surviving are two daughters, Jennifer (Delbert) Woods of Tuscarawas and Bethany (Michael) Sheets of New Philadelphia; two sons, Jason (Beth) Stevens of Millersburg and SSgt. Bret Penick who is stationed with the United States Army in Lawton, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Gage, Lucas and Kryscena Woods, Kiana and Allegra Stevens and Renly Sheets; a sister, Pam Chaney and a brother, Joe (Marla) Stevens.

In addition to his parents, a brother, Roger Espenschied; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Pamela Perdue and Rhonda and John Stevens and an infant brother, Roy Stevens, also precede him in death.

In keeping with his wishes, Howie’s cremation care is to be conducted through the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
