Helen Phillips

Helen (Shaffer) Phillips, 73, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, November 18, 2021 in the care of Cleveland Clinic at Garfield Heights.

Born in Reedsville, West Virginia on March 14, 1948, Helen was the daughter of the late Austin Shaffer and Juanita (Norman) Shaffer.

Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family.

She is survived by her children, Candie (Walfer) Phillips, George (Crystal) Kerns and Juanita Applegarth all of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Jessica Phillips, Miranda Philips, Destiny Combs, Samuel Phillips, Georgina Marker, Joni Kerns, Cassandra Lopez, Helen Kerns, Corey Fisher and Tiffani Walton; her great-grandchildren, Emily, Lilly, Keerstein, Elaina, Gabby, Brooklyn, Tristian, Everly, Isabella, Selena, Chyanne, Americus and Zariah and Oakland who are expected great-grandchild due in December; and a sister, Paulette Weeese. Helen is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Phillips, brothers John Shoemaker, Jimmy Shaffer and a sister Bonnie Boor.

In keeping with Helen’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care will be conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
