Geraldine Louise (Jerry) Berlendis was a cherished aunt, sister, cousin, daughter and friend. Born March 10, 1936, Jerry left us on January 27, 2021.
Born to Cora (nee Bonvechio) and Pete Berlendis, Jerry graduated from St. Mary’s High, attended Marquette University, and received a degree in political science from Kent State University. She worked as a teacher, raised chickens with her father, was a long-time precinct poll worker and became a Precinct Election Official, and most important to her, took pride in caring for her family.
Jerry resided on her family farm, the 3rd generation to do so. She loved the farm and tending her grape vineyard. She enjoyed baking, researching family genealogy, attending auctions, walking in her woods, and sharing time with family and friends. Hot Tetley tea, cookies and laughter were served around the kitchen table along with her great sense of humor and joking manner. She and her childhood friends, all members of their long-standing Canasta club, loved getting together for both cards and conversation.
She was passionate about sports; a true sport’s aficionado with an uncanny ability to recall names, stats, and records for college and professional basketball, football and baseball teams and players. She was a loyal Indian, Browns and Notre Dame fan.
Jerry is survived by her loving nieces, Susan, Lori, Monica, Mary and Beth and her grand nieces and nephews, Josh, Sydney, Aaron and Courtney. Her newest family members that gave her much joy are her great nephews, Cooper and Paxton. She will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by all.
While Covid will not allow us to gather to share our grief and memories, we ask that your prayers and thoughts go out to Aunt Jerry. She was strong in her faith and a member of the Immaculate Conception parish. Donations in her memory may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 206 N. First Street Dennison, OH 44621.
Jerry will be interned at Calvary Cemetery next to her beloved parents.
A memorial will be planned when it is deemed safe to gather.

I loved Jerry. She was a first cousin to my mom's (Vera Bonvechio) and someone I love to talk with and laugh with. I will miss her.
To all of Jerry's beloved family, we send our deepest condolences to all of you and know we share in your grief. Jerry was one of our dearest friends and we are so sad that we weren't able to see her much this past year due to the pandemic. Our visits to the farm to visit with Anna, Jean and Jerry are some of our most enjoyable memories of the past 20 years. They were all so witty and we loved them dearly. We shared in a fresh cup of coffee and Jerry's delicious cookies while she had her tea. She was quite the sports fan and Bill was always glad to talk over the latest game with her. Life will not be the same without this spunky lady. RIP, Jerry - we love you so much.
Very sorry to hear about Jerry. She was great to be around and was always a lot of fun when we came to visit at the farm. Always great memories of being with everyone when I was growing up! I cherish those days and memories and think about everyone. Our deepest sympathy to all of Jerry's family.
