F. Marie Stuber, 90, of Park Village Health Care in Dover, died Friday, May 27, 2005.A daughter of the late Harry C. Lawrence and Bessie Elizabeth (Angel) Lawrence Phillips Snyder, Marie was born January 2, 1915 in New Philadelphia.After graduating from New Philadelphia High School, Marie married the late Ralph E. Stuber and celebrated 57 years of marriage with him, prior to his death in 1991.Together, they enjoyed camping and traveling, visiting all 50 states. She also was proud of her service to youth, caring for children at Fort Wayne Children’s Home and the Indiana Boy’s Village, where she served as the housemother. Other jobs she held during her lifetime included working at the former Belmont Stamping Company and acting as the custodian at the First Christian Church in New Philadelphia.Marie was a longtime and faithful member of the First Church of the Brethren in New Philadelphia where she served as a Sunday School teacher and enjoyed participating in the Women’s Fellowship. She was also a member of the Tuscarawas County AARP.Marie is survived by her brother, Paul (Julia) Phillips of Dover; sisters-in-law, Twila Lawrence of Navarre, and Thelma Phillips of New Philadelphia; brothers-in-law, Joe Ross of Lakeland, Florida, Leo Angeloni of East Sparta, and Grover Kennedy of Dover; nieces and nephews, Emma, Margaret, Jeannie, Becky, Valerie, Barbara, Kathy, Cindi, Jackie, Linda, Beverly, Sandy, Patty, Debbie, Diane, Butch, Jimmy, John, Terry, Bill, Dan, Keith and Doug; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruth Ross, Helen Angeloni, Jane Wilden, Phyllis Kennedy, Howard Lawrence, Jesse Phillips, Ralph Lawrence, and Frank Lawrence.Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31, 2005 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia. Services will be conducted by Pastor Max Canfield on Wednesday, June 1 at the funeral home beginning at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be at East Avenue Cemetery following the funeral. Friends and family are invited to the First Church of the Brethren, 700 Fair Ave NW, New Phila, following the committal where a luncheon will be served.The family requests that memorial contributions in memory of Marie be directed to the First Church of the Brethren.
