Donald J. Stevens

Donald J. Stevens, 75, of Uhrichsville, died Sunday, August 11, 2002 at Union Hospital in Dover following a brief illness.Born in Piedmont, he was the son of the late John R. and Ada Green Stevens. He was a graduate of the former Tippecanoe High School and had served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Pacific during W.W.II. Don had retired from Larson Clay in Gnadenhutten and was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Tuscarawas and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.Surviving is his wife, the former Julia Mae Miller, whom he married November 23, 1962. Also surviving are two daughters, Pamela J. (Willard) Perdue of Barnesville and Rhonda L. (John) Stevens of Uhrichsville; two sons, Joe (Marla) Stevens of Uhrichsville and Howard E. (Michelle) Stevens of Dennison; a sister Ada Sue (Edward) Lewis of Massillon; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. A daughter, Donna Stevens, a son, Roy Stevens, and seven brothers and sisters also precede him in death.In keeping with his wishes, his body is to be cremated and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
