CLARA R. QUICKSALL, 69, of Dover, died peacefully in Union Hospital Wednesday, June 5, 2002. Born in New Philadelphia May 5, 1933, Clara was the daughter of the late Harry Franklin and Nettie Nancy Overholt Renner. Clara was a 1951 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and graduated from St. Luke’s Hopsital Nurse Training in Cleveland O. Clara was a 59-year member of the First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia, having actively served in various leadership capacities including Faith Circle, which she led for over 25 years. She served as a volunteer for many charitable organizations, and was a member of Junior Clionian, the former Thalian Club, Dover Historical Society, and the Tuscarawas County Democratic Women. For many years she served as a poll worker on Election Day. Clara was an accomplished china painter and water-color artist, and enjoyed sewing and quilting, bridge and golf. She also worked at Civil Design Associates of New Philadelphia. Her family includes her husband, H. Paul Quicksall, with whom she would have celebrated 49 years of marriage on June 28, three daughters; Constance (Robert) Flanagan of Dover, Patricia (Harry) Matter of New Philadelphia, Cathleen (Steven) Akins of Warsaw, a son Philip Quicksall of Dover, five grandchildren, Brian (Anne) and Stephanie Hanner, Paul and Kristen Matter and Ashley Akins; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren.Funeral Services will be held Monday at 11:00am in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home with Dr. Steven Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Dover Burial Park. Friends may call Sunday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 201 West High Avenue, New Philadelphia OH 44663, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
