Cecilia Paris

July 29, 1923 — November 17, 2018

Cecilia Marie Paris, a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, 95, of Dover, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2018 following a short period of declining health.

Born in Roswell on July 29, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Ersilia (Giumenti) Bianchi.

Cecilia was a 1941 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. Until recently, members of the class still enjoyed their friendships meeting for luncheons monthly.

Prior to him going off to war, Cecilia met and fell in love with her future husband, the late Victor Edward Paris. One month after his discharge, they married on February 2, 1946. The two celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary prior to his passing.

Cecilia was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church. She also greatly cherished spending time with and raising her family and supporting their interests. Many great memories were made with her family while on yearly vacations, especially at the beach. On the weekends, the entire family enjoyed boating at Tappan Lake, especially waterskiing.

Later in life, she enjoyed visiting with friends and family on her back porch. Many students at West Elementary in New Philadelphia enjoyed Cecilia’s volunteer efforts with reading and math. She also loved going to the hair salon, where she had great social time and always enjoyed lunch afterward.

Cecilia will be deeply missed by her children, including Vicki Fuerst of New Philadelphia, Edward (Ginny) Paris of Dover, Pamela (Craig) Beller of Dover, Yvonne Reed of New Philadelphia, Kim (Mike) Maurer of Dover; and her son-in-law, Paul Lundsford.

Nine grandchildren, Melissa (Micah) Wissman, Tawnya (Rob) Baker, Victor J. Paris, Natalie (Shane) Troyer, Carl Beller, Alex Reed, and Matt Maurer; three great-grandchildren, Micah and Cecilia Wissman and Charlie Baker; and her nephew, Bob (Rosalie) Sciarini, complete the family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Cecilia was preceded in death by her daughter, Kay Lundsford; her son-in-law, Frank Fuerst; and her two brothers, Albert and Herman Sciarini.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday beginning at 2 PM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Sacred Heart Church, 139 3rd St. NE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
