CAROL J. FANTINE, 65, life-long resident of New Philadelphia, died Sunday morning, July 21, 2002 at Union Hospital. Carol was born October 2, 1936, a daughter of the late Daniel and Lydia Limbaugh Riker. In 1954 she graduated from New Philadelphia High School. Carol worked for forty-four years as a legal secretary, retiring from Les Early’s practice. On July 3, 1965 she married Jack F. Fantine. Carol was an active member of Sacred Heart Church where she volunteered her time and talent to helping with funeral meals and serving with the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Democratic Women of Tuscarawas County and Federated Democrats. Carol enjoyed her activities at the YMCA. But most of all she enjoyed being home caring for her family, cooking, baking, canning and gardening. Additionally, Carol was an avid reader. She is survived by her husband, Jack and son, Dan, both of New Philadelphia; daughter Karen of Valley Village, CA; nieces Rhonda Bigler of New Philadelphia and Suzie (Randy) Church of Orlando, FL; and nephews, Jeff (Patty) Kohler of Clearwater, FL and Albert (Gloria) Kohler of PA. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Kohler. Calling hours will be in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, July 24, 2002, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a Christian Wake service at 7:30 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday at 10:30 AM with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia.
