Calvin U. Sauser, 88, of Stone Creek, died Friday, February 22, 2002 at New Dawn Health Care Center in Dover following an extended illness.Born in Apple Creek, he was the son of the late Ulrich L. and Etha Linda Mizer Sauser. He was a long time area farmer and had worked as a mill operator for the former Valley Farm Supply in Dover. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Stone Creek and was a former member of the Jefferson Grange in Stone Creek.His wife, Evelyn Sauser, preceded him in death in 1957. Surviving is a daughter, Maurene (Jerry) Myers; two sons, Terry (Cheryl) Sauser and Gale (Wyviona) Sauser and a brother Delbert Sauser all of Stone Creek; grandchildren, Michael (Debra) Myers, Mark (Shelly) Myers, Amanda (Mark) Hines, Todd (Paula) Sauser, Shelly (Scott) Ruesegger, Marty Sauser, Chad Sauser and Troy (Chasity) Sauser and ten great grandchildren. Two sisters, a brother and a half-brother are also deceased.Funeral services will be held Monday, February 25, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Stone Creek with Pastor William C. Haggis officiating. Burial will be at Stone Creek Cemetery in Stone Creek. Visitation will be Sunday, February 24, 2002 from 2 to 5 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Zion Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 118, Stone Creek, Ohio, 43840.
