Betty Lou Malone

Betty Lou (Lorenz) Malone, 79, of Bolivar and formerly of Dover, died October 29, 2021 in Aultman Hospital at Canton following complications with Covid-19.

Born March 1, 1942 in Shanesville, she was the daughter of the late Albert R. and Anna (Gualtieri) Lorenz.

Betty was a 1960 graduate of Dover High School. She loved to dance and enjoyed being a social butterfly, but above all, she loved her family fiercely.

On August 28, 1973, Betty married the love of her life, the late Donald Malone.  They met at and were life members of the Dover VFW Post #3463.

Betty is survived by her children, Debra Shaw of North Fort Myers, FL, and Preston Scott Wallace of Dover; sister, Pat Lorenz of Dover; grandchildren, Shannon (Shane) Simmons, Jessica (Nate) Bosler, Preston Wallace II, Shayna Wallace, Brianna Wallace; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemarie Ionno; and her brother, Albert Lorenz.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover from 4 to 6 p.m. A service will begin in the funeral home at 6 p.m. with Pastor Brian Flood officiating.
