Betty Kennedy

Betty L. Kennedy, 69, of Goshen, died Thursday, February 20, 2003, at Park Village Healthcare Center in Dover following an extended illness. She was born January 22, 1934, in New Philadelphia, to the loving parents of Frank and Polly Akers Vitt of New Philadelphia. Betty attended New Philadelphia High School. She was married to Wilson O. Kennedy on January 3, 1953, in New Philadelphia, who preceded her in death on August 20, 1998. Betty spent her life caring for her family as a homemaker and was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia. She also worked at Daniel’s Dress Shop for several years.Surviving is a daughter, Sue Ann (Steve) Burgess of Dover; son, Michael O (Brenda) Kennedy of Florida; three granddaughters, Stephanie A. Burgess of Dover, Brooke Kennedy and Nicole Kennedy both of Florida; a grandson, Shane P. Burgess of Dover; two brothers, Frank (Vicki) Vitt Jr. and David (Brenda) Vitt, both of New Philadelphia. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 24, 2003, from 6-8 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, New Philadelphia. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Msgr. George Schlegel officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia.
