Albert C. Stratton

Albert C. Stratton, 91, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at Aultman Hospital in Canton.Born in Dover, he was the son of the late Clem and Irene Krupp Stratton. He had retired from the New Philadelphia High School where he had worked as a custodian and had formerly delivered milk for Borden Dairy and the former Gasser Dairy. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in New Philadelphia; a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the A.A.R.P. Albert was also a violinist and had played with the Civic Symphony, the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra and the Tuscarawas County Philharmonic. Surviving is his wife, the former Ethel E. Teel, whom he married November 18, 1931; a daughter, Pat (David) Tinkey of Tampa, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Stratton of Brightwood; four grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. A son, David Stratton and a brother are also deceased.Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2002, at 10:30 AM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia with Pastor Mark Trotter officiating. Burial will be at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Visitation will be held Friday, December 13, 2002 from 4 to 6 PM in the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 878 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio, 44663.
