Wilma Alice “Willie” Teal, 74, of New Philadelphia, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on October 15, 2023 following a period of declining health.
Born in Springfield, Ohio on January 5, 1949, she was the daughter of the late William McKinnley Reeder and Alice Mae (DeWell) Murnahan.
After completing her formal education, she married Dean W. Teal on August 10, 1968. Dean served as a pastor for more than 40 years, and she greatly cherished the role as a pastor’s wife.
Professionally, Willie served as an administrative assistant for several organizations including Harcatus and H & R Block. Her greatest role was being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sibling. She cherished her time with her family and lived by the Golden Rule.
In addition to participating in numerous church activities, Willie also was an avid reader, loved to create beautiful flower arrangements and gift baskets, and care for her family and friends.
Willie leaves behind her family including her husband, Dean; her daughters, Tanya (Kevin) Pritchett and Andra (Timothy) Roberts, both of Farmington, Missouri; her grandchildren, Dean (Bethany) Brillhart and their children, Jax and Elliot, Shannon Roberts, and Joel (Hannah) Roberts; her siblings, Sandy Baker of New Philadelphia and James (Tonya) Murnahan of Xenia, Ohio; her lifelong friend, Karen Fitch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the Barrs Mill Church of God, on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. A service will begin at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Josh Wilson officiating. A meal will follow the service at the church.
