William L. Reed

William L. (Bill) Reed, age 77 of Brightwood, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Union Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in Massillon, Ohio on January 23, 1945, Bill was a son of the late Clifton D. and Freda A. (Nicholson) Reed.

He was a 1963 graduate of Fairless High School in Navarre and retired from Hercules Engine in Canton, Ohio. Bill was a singer/songwriter/guitarist and recorded a country western album when he was 48 years old. Bill also enjoyed watching old western movies and was a collector of old western memorabilia.

Bill will be missed by his son, William A. (Esra) Reed of Bodrum, Turkey; sister, Eva Jane (Kenneth, deceased) Shonk of Sherrodsville; and brother, H. Nelson (Kathleen) Reed of New Philadelphia.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by former wife, Jo Ann Warfield/Reed and sister, Judie (Donald) Bickford.

Cremation care has been entrusted to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia. A service will be held in the funeral home’s chapel Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 11 AM followed by interment in Schoenbrunn Meadow Burial Park at New Philadelphia. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home. All are welcome.
