Wilda Irene (Yoho) Bowers, age 91, of Uhrichsville, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at The Inn at Northwood Village in Dover.
Born in Reader, West Virginia on January 10, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Mack Yoho and Olive Edgell Yoho.
Wilda grew up in East Canton, where she met her future husband John Paul Bowers. On March 1, 1953, the couple married have shared 73 years of love and family together.
She worked as a service manager at the former Baroid (now Halliburton) of Dover. She had a deep love for cooking and baking, a talent that earned her several ribbons over the years. Wilda especially cherished time spent with family, and fishing at Rice Lake, in Canada and enjoyed spending winters in Winter Haven, Florida.
A faithful member of Mineral City Methodist Church, Wilda served as the longtime organist and continued to play for the residents and staff at the nursing home right up to her passing.
In addition to her husband, Wilda is survived by her children: Sandra (Jim) Vogelsang Wheeler of Atwood Lake, Joanne (William) Craigo of Dover, Joan (David) Haas of Bolivar, Debra (Kirk) Haglock of Dover, and John Michael (Beth Ann) Bowers of Strasburg; 12 grandchildren, John (Tresha) Fabynick, Jason (Lena) Fabynick, Gary (Joanna) Haas, Janet (Chad) Conrad, Ann (Andy) Baker, Tyler (Emily) Craigo, Kyle (Michelle) Haglock, Carrie (Ryan) Adler, Kolte (Kristi) Bowers, Brooke (Drew) Gordon, Brittany (Kevin) Espenschied, and Brianne (Jordan) Boggs, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her brother, Kenneth (Irene) Yoho of Florida, and her sister, Darlene (Thomas) Lee of Canton and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Velma (Carl) Miller, Mack Yoho, Gene (Pat) Yoho, and George (Lucy) Yoho; a granddaughter, Paula Jeffers and a great-grandson.
Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 12 to 2 p.m. A service celebrating her life will be led by Pastor Bob Smith beginning at 2 p.m. followed by burial in Dover Burial Park at Dover.
