Virginia P. Crawshaw, age 98, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, January 08, 2009, in Union Hospital at Dover.Born at New Philadelphia on October 19, 1910, Mrs. Crawshaw was a daughter of the late Clarence and Lucille (Steinbrook) Jackson.She loved and served the Lord with all her heart and in 1936 she joined the First Assembly of God Church at New Philadelphia and had been an active participant in the congregation throughout her lifetime. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crawshaw was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Crawshaw, who passed away on November 1, 1980; a son, Robert Crawshaw; three brothers and one sister.She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Delores Zurcher of New Philadelphia; her daughter-in-law, Geraldine Crawshaw; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.Numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.Pastor Larry Fletcher will lead a service celebrating Mrs. Crawshaw’s life on Monday, January 12, 2009, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. The family will receive friends there one hour prior to the service. Burial along side her husband will be in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
