Virginia L. Edwards

Virginia Louise Edwards, 84, of Dover, died Saturday, May 14, 2016 in Hennis Care & Retirement Centre at Dover following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Archie Clayton and Mary Jane (Blind) Veley, Virginia was born January 1, 1932 at Stillwater, Ohio.

Virginia was a 1949 graduate of Port Washington High School.  She then completed Business College at Canton, Ohio.  She held many positions throughout her career and eventually retired as a secretary at Dover Chemical after 25 years of service.

Virginia was a classically trained pianist and she enjoyed walking her English Sheep dog, Whitney.

She is survived by her children, Craig (Susan) Edwards of Dover, Kathy Evans of Hartford, Connecticut and Kim Favret of Eugene, Oregon; her grandchildren, Kelly (Dilyan) Evans Kovachev of New York, Meghan (Dan) Evans Silberman of New Britian, Connecticut, Drew (fiancée, Shannon Fearen) Edwards of New Philadelphia, Breanne Evans of New York, Andi Favret of Eugene, Oregon, Jane Favret of Portland, Oregon and Adam Edwards of Washington D.C.; two sisters, JoAnn (Harold) Weber of Georgia and Karen Combs of Florida and a brother, Dale Veley of Port Washington.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Donna Williamson.

In keeping with Virginia’s wishes, there will be no calling hours and cremation will take place through the care of the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.  A private family service will be held at a later date.
