Vicki James

Vicki James, 76, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice Truman House.

She was born on August 2, 1949, in Fredonia, Kansas, the daughter of the late Lloyd L. James and Thelma M. Ingle Shimek.

After graduating from Montclair High School, Vicki worked at various jobs throughout her lifetime. She was known for her generous heart and selfless nature—she would do anything for anyone and truly would give the shirt off her back. Vicki devotedly cared for her mother throughout her mother’s lifetime, a role she embraced with love and compassion.

Vicki had a lifelong love for Elvis Presley and enjoyed collecting Elvis memorabilia. That passion brought her great joy and was well known to those who loved her.

She will be dearly missed by her sister, Connie (Philip) Kinsey of New Philadelphia; her brother, Terry James of Texas; her “bestest nephew,” Dave Kinsey; and her “bestest friend,” Julie Sarabia, with whom she shared countless memories and did everything together while living in California.

No public visitation or services are scheduled. Burial will be held in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
