Troy Michael Raderchak, age 58, of Strasburg, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 20, 2024 in his residence following a sudden illness.
Born in Timken Mercy Hospital at Canton on September 2, 1965, Troy was a son of the late Linda (step-father, Joseph Zalesky) Marion and Larry (step-mother, Carolyn) Raderchak.
Troy was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School and at an early age began working for his step-father’s business, Rebuild, Inc. He later became a lathe operator who loved his craft and was proud of his work. Since 2009, he has worked daily beside his wife, the former Vallya Wright, whom he married on July 19, 1986. As a couple, they have shared their time together at Brownwood, Inc, and Crafted Elements.
When not at work, the couple enjoyed hiking, waterfalls, sunsets and being outdoors. Their nearly 38 years of marriage has not been entirely easy as nearly a decade ago the family suffered the unexpected loss of their daughter, Nicole. It was after this time that Troy found comfort in the word of God, was baptized, attended church, most recently at NewPointe, Community Church, and spent his mornings prior to work in prayer and conversation with God.
As a father, Troy showed unconditional love, understanding and compassion toward his daughters. He enjoyed sharing his love of music with his daughter, Taylor, and would often text her his newest finds for her to enjoy. For the past nine years, Troy looked forward to making a special trip to Pittsburgh, not to watch his beloved Steelers, but to celebrate his daughter, Nicole’s life. Annually, since Nicole’s passing, the family has made the pilgrimage to Pennsylvania where they honor and remember Nicole in various ways. As a dad of two beloved canines, Troy could do no wrong. The family dogs, Opal and Nala, were constant companions and have served as sources of comfort and joy.
Troy leaves behind his wife, Val; their daughter, Taylor Raderchak; his brother, Erik (Crissy) Raderchak; step-mother, Carolyn Raderchak; and his mother-in-law, Karen Wright all of Strasburg; a sister-in-law, Shawn (Mike) Reinhart of Dundee; a brother-in-law, John (Renea) Wright of Millersburg; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, father and step father, Troy was preceded in death by an infant son, Cody Raderchak; a daughter, Nicole Raderchak; a sister, Jo Lynn Papuga; and his father-in-law, John Wright.
In honoring Troy’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. The family will hold a private gathering in celebration of his life at a later date. The Geib Funeral Center at Dover is handling cremation care and arrangements.
