Thomas Carruthers

Thomas W. Carruthers, age 94, passed away peacefully in Oak Point Nursing and Rehab at Baltic on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

He was born in Dover, Ohio to the late Thomas Franklin and Ethel (Pongrat) Carruthers on June 28, 1931. Tom proudly served in the United States Armed Forces. He enlisted in the Army, Air Force and National Guard. While serving in the air force he became an airplane mechanic. He became a lifelong fan of war movies and westerns.

He was married to the former Janice Lobb for over 54 years, who survives. Tom is also survived by his step-son, James Riley of Akron; and nephew, Sam (Lisa) Pake of Dover.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Carruthers; and sister, Marybelle Pake.

In keeping with Tom’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Linn-Hert- Geib Funeral Home and Crematory in New Philadelphia is being entrusted with Tom's cremation care.
