Shirley Lou McCaslin, 90, of Dundee, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from Ohio’s Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Russell F. and Erma Rose (Kline) King, Shirley was born April 13, 1935 in Dundee, Ohio.

Shirley graduated from Dundee High School in 1953. She was retired from driving school bus for Garaway Schools and following her retirement she worked 13 years at Camp Patmos at Kelley’s Island.

She was a member of Alpine Bible Church at Sugarcreek. Shirley loved fishing and also enjoyed her time with her horses. Shirley always had a warm smile, a hug, and a kind word to say. She was known as “Sweet” Shirley to her friends at Whispering Pines in Sebring, FL. where she and Glenn wintered for many years. She actively volunteered with Teen Missions in Florida.

Surviving are her daughter, Jeanna (Rich) Allen of Carrollton, Oh and son, Charles (Lee) McCaslin of Dundee; five grandchildren, Gwyn McCaslin, Theo (Emily) McCaslin of Dundee, Tasha Snyder of Strasburg, Sarah (Chad) Musser of Bellfonte, PA, and Amy Sheets of Dundee; thirteen grandchildren, Joshua and LenaRose McCaslin, Addison, Charlie, Avery, and Breck McCaslin, Abby and Drake Snyder, Kaiden, Zoe, and Ethan Musser, and Kia and Oliver Bigler; and sisters-in-law, Emmy King of Millersburg and Joyce King of Dundee, and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years Glenn McCaslin, two sons, Russell, and Michael; two brothers, Ralph (Sonny) and Glendale King, a sister, Donna Jean (King) Thomas, brothers-in-law, Jack Thomas, Ken Pierce, Chuck Baker, Bill Beauchemin, Robert McCaslin, sisters-in-law, Valora Pierce, Erma Baker, Ila Beauchemin, and Edith McCaslin.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday December 9, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Alpine Bible Church at Sugarcreek where Pastor Byron Stewart will lead a 6:00 p.m. funeral service celebrating Shirley’s life.
