Sheran Lee "Sherry" Betz, 70, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton following a recent diagnosis of cancer.

Born on February 5, 1956, in Canton, Ohio, Sherry was the daughter of the late Robert Mariol and Marilyn L. (Lautzenheiser) Mariol Myers.

It is with profound sadness and immense love that we remember Sherry, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose greatest joy in life was the people she loved.

Sherry shared an extraordinary love story with her husband, William E. Betz, Jr. The two met as young teenagers and built a beautiful life together, marrying on June 6, 1973. For more than 53 years, they were inseparable partners, creating a lifetime of cherished memories filled with love, laughter, friendship, and adventure. Together they enjoyed attending car shows with their special group of friends, taking road trips, exploring antique shops, and making the most of every moment they shared.

Family was the center of Sherry's world. Her heart was larger than life, and she had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Her home was a place where family gathered, stories were shared, and memories were made. She never missed an opportunity to support, encourage, and celebrate those she loved.

One of Sherry's favorite places was the beach. She found peace in the sound of the waves, comfort in the ocean breeze, and joy in collecting seashells. Whether on family vacations or special trips, she loved searching the shoreline for treasures and especially cherished collecting shells with her grandchildren, Cody and Katie, a tradition that continued well into their adult years. The beach was a place where she felt happiest and most at peace.

Sherry treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She delighted in watching them grow, celebrating their accomplishments, and creating lasting memories together. Her love for them knew no bounds, and they brought immeasurable happiness to her life.

A devoted animal lover, Sherry adored her beloved black cat, Baby, as well as her grandpups and grand-cats. She never missed an opportunity to spoil them with affection and treats, and they held a special place in her heart.

Sherry was known for her kindness, generosity, and compassionate spirit. She would do anything for anyone without hesitation and had a gift for making people feel cared for. Her warm smile, gentle nature, and unwavering love touched countless lives throughout the years.

She dedicated many years to her career, working at Adelman's Truck Parts before retiring from Fallsway Equipment in February 2021.

Perhaps one of the things her family and friends will miss most is hearing her familiar farewell. Before hanging up the phone, Sherry would always say, "I love you more." Those simple words perfectly captured the depth of her love and the way she lived her life every day.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband of nearly 53 years, William E. Betz, Jr.; her children, William "Bill" (Billie Jo) Betz and Chad (Kristin) Betz; her grandchildren, Cody (Cassie) Betz, Katie (Keeley) Betz, Brenin Betz, and Cam Betz; her treasured great-grandson, Hudson Betz; her sister, Cindy (Kevin) Murray; her brother, Robert "Dink" Mariol; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Terry (Barb) Mariol.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the countless memories Sherry leaves behind and the love she shared so freely. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the friendships she nurtured, and the many lives she touched with her caring and generous heart.

Sherry will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

"I love you more." — a simple phrase that will forever remind us of the extraordinary woman who gave so much of herself to those she loved.

In keeping with Sherry's wishes, no public services will be held. The family will celebrate her life privately at a later date, with details to be shared when available.
