Shawn M. Kruithoff

Shawn M. Kruithoff, age 47, of Freeport, Ohio went home to be with the Lord after a massive heart attack on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Born on September 13, 1978, in Detroit, Michigan.

Shawn was the most caring, hard-working person anyone would meet. His greatest enjoyments were spending time with his family and animals. He loved watching Nascar, Notre Dame football, New York Yankees, riding his wheel horses, and canoeing down the river.

He will be deeply missed by his fiancé of 17 years, Tana Campbell and her son, Zachary; sister, Virginia (Mike) Swinderman, nieces, Karissa (Gage) Sommers, and Kiersten (Noah) Tinlin; nephew, Steven (Erika) Swinderman; numerous great nieces and nephews; and in-laws, Pete and Bonnie Campbell.

Shawn was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Virginia Kruithoff; and brother, Donald Kruithoff II.

In keeping with Shawn’s wishes cremation care has taken place and there will be no services.
