Sarah J. Simmons

Sarah J. Simmons, 90, of New Philadelphia, passed away in her home on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

Born in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late Foster and Cecilia (Miller) Everett. Sarah had retired from the Indian Valley School System in 2007 after serving as a School Bus Driver for many years and was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church at Tuscarawas.

She is survived by her son, Greg (Kay) Simmons of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Shawnte (Chuck) Cavanaugh, Channon (Craig Henderson) Horsfall, Shana Reichman, Courtney (Ken) Guspyt, Shilo (Mabel) Simmons, Kyle (Leisha) Simmons and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Simmons and her son, Doug Simmons.

 In keeping with Sarah’s wishes, cremation care is to be provided by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a private family service will be held.
