Sandra Jean “Sandy” Davy, 65, of Sherrodsville, passed away peacefully in the Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia on November 6, 2023, following a period of declining health.

Born in Dover on June 4, 1958, she was the daughter of Theresa Irene (Tylka) Cihon of Dover and the late Joseph A. Cihon.  After graduating from Dover High School in 1976, Sandy attended The Ohio State University. She also continued her education at Buckeye Career Center where she got her medical coding certificate. One of the highlights of her high school career was marching in the Bicentennial parades in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia playing the baritone.

She was employed with Union Hospital in Dover for more than 20 years as a secretary in the radiology department.

On September 20, 1980, Sandy married her husband of 43 years, James H. Davy. They were blessed with the birth of their three children and 6 grandchildren, all of whom Sandy adored. Sandy was a talented artist, whether she painted beautiful ceramics or sewed special projects. She also never passed up the opportunity to dine at area restaurants with her family and friends.

Sandy’s faith was nurtured throughout her life at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover where she participated in the Seniors group.

Her family includes her husband, Jim; children, Tracy (James) Miller of New Philadelphia, Monica (Jed) Lewis of Sherrodsville, and Joseph “Alex” Davy of Sherrodsville; her grandchildren, Trevor, Conner, Jaxon, and Lyla Clark, and Elizabeth and Christina Miller; her siblings, Larry, Stephen, and Robert Cihon, all of Dover, and Jo Ann (David) Sampsel of Stone Creek and their children, David and Amanda Sampsel.
