Sandra Kaye Berichon, age 83, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully late Thursday, May 21, 2026, following a long period of declining health.

Born on June 18, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, Sandy was the daughter of the late Lynn Leroy and Stella May (Spice) Calvin.

After graduating from Euclid High School, she married Richard “Richie” Berichon on September 23, 1961, in Willoughby, Ohio. Together the couple had three children and celebrated 50 years of marriage prior to his passing on July 21, 2012.

Until she started her family, Sandy worked for General Electric in Euclid. As she raised her family, Sandy enjoyed babysitting from her home and later worked for Dairy Queen in Dover and New Philadelphia. She went on to work for Hunter’s Southside gas station now Bell Stores on the Southside of New Philadelphia until her retirement.

Sandy enjoyed being with family, listening to music, scrapbooking, and caring for her cats and dogs.

She is survived by her children, Edward Berichon of Ashland, Ohio, Robert (Colette) Berichon of Kirtland, Ohio, and Theresa (Michael) Peters of Dover; grandchildren, Kayla (Chase) Norman, Thomas Berichon, Katie Berichon, Quinn Berichon, Julie Berichon, Adam Berichon, Matthew Berichon, Riley Peters, and Ryan Peters; and her companion, Bill Owens.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sandy was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Samuel Berichon.

A private graveside service will be held in the Dover Burial Park. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.
