Samuel “Butch” Hidey Jr.

Samuel B “Butch” Hidey Jr., 55, of Dennison, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, July 6, 2018 in Union Hospital at Dover. Born in Dover, he is survived by his mother and step-father, Jerri and Ralph Sell Jr. of Bowerston, OH and is preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Samuel B. and Wendy Hidey Sr.

In addition to his mother and step-father, he is survived by his wife; Esther R. Owens Hidey of Sugarcreek; a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Michael Robinson of Massillon; a son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Jessie Owens of Dundee; five grandchildren, Trina and Makaila Robinson and Fantasia, Dominic and Bronsen Owens.

Also surviving are three sisters, Carol Owens of New Philadelphia; Sandra (Steve) Miller of Dover and Brenda (Paul) Chaney of Georgia; a brother, James (Tracy) Hidey of Dover; five step-sisters, Darla (Aaron) Handler of Beachwood, Niki (Cecil) Anno of Florida, Meme (David) McClintock of Dennison, Missy Hidey and her fiancé, David of Baltic and Christina (Dean) Shahan of Ragersville; a step-brother, Roy (Cheyenne) Reynolds of New Philadelphia and numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation care will be carried out through the Geib Funeral Center and Crematory and a private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
