Roy S. Husk "Together Again"

Roy S. Husk, 74, of New Philadelphia, passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

Born in Elizabeth, West Virginia, Roy was the son of the late Samuel George and Flossie (Coon) Husk and had worked throwing chains on Drilling Rigs in the Oil Fields. In his spare time, Roy loved going scrapping and visiting all of the area Speedway Stations and purchasing scratch-off lottery tickets. He was a die-hard fan of the NFL and his Raiders football team.

He is survived by his daughter, Terra Gerthing of New Philadelphia; a son, Bill Gerthing and a daughter, Velma (Tony) Wilson; eight grandchildren, Angela Lewis, Kayla Day, Chris Young, Tony Gerthing, Lita Carpenter, Jeanee Gerthing, Michael Wilson and Jaycub Gerthing; 17 great grandchildren, Nicky and Trinity Gerthing; Madix, Maddi and Mallorie Bair; Blake, Atley, Chris and Mitchell Young; RaeLynn, Addy and Tony Gerthing; Kylee Koch; Gage, Jessi, Maddox and Mason Wilson.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Gerthing on September 30, 2020.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation care is to be provided by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and no services are to be scheduled.
